RESIST and the Cross-Cutting Projects: The Mission Catalogue 2025

The European Union Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change has launched the Mission Projects Catalogue 2025, offering an accessible and comprehensive overview of 46 projects funded under the initiative through the Horizon Europe programme. Aimed at policymakers, researchers, local authorities, and climate practitioners, the catalogue examines how various regions across Europe are addressing climate risks through practical and innovative adaptation strategies.

Organised around thematic areas – such as nature-based solutions, infrastructure, water management, finance, and citizen engagement – the catalogue provides a clear and concise summary of the diverse approaches adopted throughout the continent. It highlights how local and regional actors are addressing threats such as flooding, droughts, heatwaves, and sea level rise. For each project, the catalogue outlines core objectives, the regions involved, targeted climate risks, and tested solutions – offering both inspiration and concrete opportunities for collaboration.

Among the initiatives is RESIST, featured in the catalogue’s cross-cutting section. The project is recognised for addressing multiple dimensions of climate adaptation through innovation, science, and technology. The catalogue highlights RESIST’s work in 12 climate-vulnerable regions across Europe and its ambition to implement over 100 adaptation solutions. It also showcases the project’s use of digital twins to support strategic planning and decision-making, along with its efforts to foster citizen engagement and share knowledge with eight twinning regions – further extending the impact of its innovations.

More than a simple collection of initiatives, the catalogue serves as a practical guide for identifying synergies, tackling shared challenges, and scaling effective practices. It is an essential tool for anyone seeking to align local action with the EU’s broader climate objectives.
