Normandy Region Turns to Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Challenges
To prepare for the effects of climate change, the Normandy region set up its own intergovernmental panel on climate change, the Normand IPCC, in 2019. The idea was to bring together existing local scientific work on climate.
The report says that Normandy, which is in northern France, will be hit by more frequent and more intense climate disasters. These will depend on how much carbon is emitted, which is currently close to the RCP 8.5 scenario – a high-emissions, ‘business as usual’ scenario.
